Factors for consideration in business startup
This write up describes different factors which need to be kept in mind before starting your own business. It mainly talks about a business from a proprietorship point of view, rather than from a corporate point of view. Thus it is intended for small business.
How Wikileaks information will affect world's economy
The sensitive information was released to the public and some of the information from WikiLeaks include
Vladimir Putin rules Russia by allowing a venal elite to siphon off cash from the world's biggest energy producer, according to a picture painted by U.S. diplomatic cables leaked by WikiLeaks.
ITALY
- U.S. diplomats voiced concern over Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's ties to Russia's Vladimir Putin and the grip of energy interests on Rome's foreign policy.
The website had previously given a flavor of the U.S. view of Berlusconi, but what appeared to be a full cable from the U.S. embassy in Rome fills out a gloomy assessment that depicts Italy in thrall to Moscow.
The lawyer acting for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange denied that Sweden had issued a valid European arrest warrant for alleged sex crimes, despite Stockholm's insistence that legal difficulties with the warrant were resolved.
Swedish police earlier said technical problems hindering the arrest of the 39-year-old Australian had been ironed out, and a newspaper report said he was in Britain.
How it will affect the economy is what is not clear yet?

EFCC files charges against former US Vice President
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria said on Thursday it planned to file charges against former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney in a $180 million bribery case involving a former unit of oil services firm, Halliburton.
The EFCC on Tuesday summoned the country chief of Halliburton and last week detained 10 Nigerian and expatriate Halliburton staff for questioning after raiding its Lagos office.
“We are filing charges against Cheney,” EFCC spokesman, Femi Babafemi told Reuters.
Asked whether Cheney would be charged over the investigation into construction of a liquefied natural gas plant in Nigeria, Femi Babafemi said, “it’s true ... definitely.”
The spokesman would not give details on the charges that he says are likely to be filed next week, but said “they are not unconnected to his role as the chief executive of Halliburton.”
A prosecutor on the case, Godwin Obla, said joint charges would be filed against Cheney along with the former and current leadership of Halliburton and others.
The charges are to be filed at the high court in Abuja, he said.
KBR, and Halliburton which was once headed by Cheney, reached a $579 million settlement in the United States but Nigeria, France and Switzerland have conducted their own investigations into the case.
Halliburton split from KBR in 2007 and has said that its current operations in Nigeria are unrelated.

New face of telecomms business in nigeria
The telecommunication sector in Nigeria have since its privatisation in 2001 by the then president Chief Olusegun Obsanjo with the arrival of Econet and Mtn have undergo series of development. Since then, subscribers were made to pay high tariffs until globccom came into the scene and introduced per/seconds billing which mark the beginning of the price reduction. Around two years ago, Etisalat came into the scene with a strategy and this also lead to price reduction of calls.
The then econet changed to vodacom, ..... and now Airtel. Airtel is the company that has come up with the latest price slash to N12 / mins which is by far the lowest in the country for now.
The questions in the mind of average phone users is whether all these have come to stay. will there be further reduction.? Time will tell.

Towards year 2011
I woke up this morning and i realised that it is exactly 29 days to the beginning of a new calendar year 2011.
i asked my self, what were my goals at the beginning of the year? am i able to achieve any of the goals? and then i asked you my audience, have you ask your self these questions?
If you were able to achieve all your goals, give thanks to the Lord and then flash back to review what you did to achieve those goals and learn from it.if you achieve some or unable to achieve all, still give thanks to the Lord and evaluate yourself on how to move on.
For the coming year? start the preparation now on what you want to achieve next year in your personal and business life. yes personal life, because it affects your business life.
All the best and happy new business year 2011 in advance.
