RIVERS AND AKWA IBOM STATES
INCUMBENT governors of Rivers and Akwa Ibom states, Rotimi Amaechi and Godswill Akpabio, were on Wednesday declared winners of the governorship elections in their respective states.Both Amaechi and Akpabio are of the Peoples Democratic Party and are both re-elected for their second tenure.
While Akpabio, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission, scored 957,585 votes to defeat his closest rival, Senator John Ndoelehe of the Action Congress of Nigeria who polled 163,449 votes.
Announcing the results of the Rivers elections on Wednesday the Collating Officer, Professor Joseph Ajieneka, said Amaechi scored 1,178,859 to beat his rival, Mr. Celestine Omehia of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, who got 112,528 votes.
KATSINA STATE
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday announced the incumbent Katsina State governor Ibrahim Shema as winner of last Tuesday’s gubernatorial election with 1, 027 , 912 votes.
He defeated the candidate of the main opposition Congress for progressive Change (CPC) and former speaker House of Representatives Aminu Bello Masari who scored 555,769 votes.
EKITI STATE
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared candidates of ACN in Ekiti State as winners of all National Assembly seats in the state.
INEC had rescheduled the elections to Tuesday based on an agreement by all political parties in the contest.
"The commission announced on Wednesday that ACN also won 24 state House of Assembly seats, while PDP won two in the 26-member assembly.
According to INEC, Mr. Babafemi Ojudu of ACN polled 67,747 votes to defeat former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose of LP, who polled 29,773 votes, and PDP's Kayode Alufa, who scored 29,488 votes.
In Ekiti South Senatorial District, Chief Anthony Adeniyi of ACN polled 70,360 to defeat incumbent Sen. Sola Akinyede of PDP, who polled 43,537 votes.
In Ekiti North Senatorial District, Mr. Olubunmi Adetumbi of ACN polled 58,568 votes to defeat the Chairman, Senate Committee on Privatisation, Sen. Ayo Arise of PDP.
Candidates of ACN also won the six House of Representatives seats in the state.

The ruling Labour Party (LP) in Ondo State has won 23 seats out of the 26 constituencies in the State Assembly election conducted on Tuesday.
The main opposition PDP won only one seat while the result of two constituencies were still being awaited as at the time of filing this report.
The four other political parties, which took part in the election, did not win any seat.
The parties are the ACN, APGA, ANPP and the National Transformation Party (NTP).
The only PDP seat won was in Ese Odo Local Government Area of the state where the former governor, Dr Olusegun Agagu, hailed from.
LP on the other hand won the seats in Akure South I and II, Ose, Akure North, Ileoluji/Okeigbo, Akoko South East, Ondo West I and II, Owo 1 and II, Ondo East and Ifedore.
It also won the seats in Okitipupa I and II, Akoko North West I and II, Odigbo I and II, Idanre, Akoko South West I and II, Akoko North East and Irele.
The two local governments in dispute, according to INEC spokesman, Mr Taiwo Gbedegesin, were Ilaje I and II.

PDP governorship candidate Chief Theodore Orji of Abia has been declared the winner of Tuesday's governorship elections.
Orji polled 641,158 votes to beat Chief Reagan Ufomba of APGA who placed second with a total of 49,421 votes. The Returning Officer, Prof Hillary Edoga declared the result in the presence of party agents, security operatives and observers.
The PDP also won all the 24 seats in the state House of Assembly as well as the rescheduled election in Isiala Ngwa North and Isiala Ngwa East Federal Constituencies.

The rescheduled House of Representatives elections held in Isiala Ngwa North and South Local Government Area of Abia state was rigged by PDP (People's Democratic Party). PDP paid the security to get the ballot papers and other parties have reported this to the electoral commission, INEC, but INEC ignored them, closed the issue, and announced the fake results.
