The supplementary governorship and House of Assembly election in some parts of Imo have been characterised by large turn out of voters.
The early arrival of election materials as well as orderliness at the various polling units.
For instance, accreditation began at Awara Central School, Oborji Ohaji/Egbema LGA at 8:30 a.m.
Also in Umuoloka polling unit in Ohaji/Egbema ward 2, accreditation commenced at 9 a.m and voters were seen in queues in orderly manner.
At the Mechanic Village units 8 and 9 in Orji, Owerri North Local Government Area (LGA), accreditation began at 9:10 a.m.
The Presiding Officer, Akon Oboho, told NAN that she had received the election materials.
At Orji Primary School Units 5, 6 and 7, where accreditation began at 9:30 a.m, there were attempts by some unidentified persons to prevent non indigenes of the state from voting.
But security agents, who were alerted, arrived and brought sanity to the area and accreditation continued.
At Worie Ubi, headquarters of Mbaitoli LGA, there was a hiccup as the election materials were not complete.
The contending parties insisted that unless the result sheets arrived, the other materials would not be allowed to leave the arena.
In Oguta LGA, materials had not yet arrived as at 11 a.m.
