The Flying Eagles of Nigeria, John Obuh has disclosed that his eyes are on the coveted U-20 trophy as he plans to take each game in the competition as they come.
The former Kwara United gaffer said he and other members of the technical crew have identified the loopholes in the team during the just concluded African Youth Championship which they won and hopes to correct them as they prepare for the World Cup which starts 29 July in Colombia.
“We will take the matches as they come. We are taking all the teams in the group seriously. Anybody that is competing in the world stage will always want to conquer, so we are going to the World Cup with the aim of winning. I just submitted my programme for the tournament to the technical committee of the NFF.
I hope they approve it early so we can start preparation. “We have noted the team’s challenges at the last competition and we will straighten them up before the World Cup. We really worked very well and had the same mind. Irrespective of our mistakes, we were still able to get a good result out of the competition,” Obuh said.
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria are drawn in Group D alongside Saudi Arabia, Croatia and Guatemala.
