Kerosine scarcity in Nigeria to end in 10 days

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, said it has prepared work with petroleum marketers to flood the country with kerosene, in order to bring an end to the scarcity of the product within 10 days.

NNPC’s Group Managing Director,  Mr. Austen Oniwon, stated this yesterday after a meeting with officials of the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN).
He stressed that the corporation has about 40-day sufficiency stock of kerosene to be distributed nationwide.
Oniwon said, “We are all aware of the pains Nigerian are going through with regard to the availability of kerosene, which is used in many homes across the country. This is what has informed our decision to meet with all relevant stakeholders in the supply and distribution process of this product.
He promised that beginning from today major marketers across the country would get products in large quantities for onward distribution to their retail points so that kerosene would become readily available to consumers.
At the briefing, the Executive Secretary of MOMAN, Mr. Obafemi Olawore, said the association was ready to work with NNPC towards bringing relief to Nigerians who are suffering due to scarcity of the product.(Vanguard)
