Bomb blast in Kaduna

Midnight blast in Kaduna destroys three buildings and injures at least 20 people. A bomb blast at Fokado Street, off Maiduguri Road in Kaduna, on Sunday left more than 20 people seriously injured. The Kaduna blast happened hours after another explosion in Suleja, Niger state claimed at least 4 lives.

A similar explosion on the same day in Suleja, Niger state left at least four people dead.

A victim of the blast, Mr Solomon Aliyu, 34, said that the blast, which occurred around 11:20 p.m., destroyed three buildings in the area. Aliyu, who sustained an injury on his left leg from the blast, was treated at a nearby clinic.
He said that other victims with serious injuries were on admission and were being treated at Alba and Logus clinics on Constitution Road and Maiduguri Road by Oshogbo Road respectively.
Aliyu, who said he was escorted home by soldiers after receiving treatment at the Alba clinic, saod that security personnel were combing the area for suspects.
The coordinator of the Joint Security Taskforce (Operation Yaki) in the state, retired Col. Gabriel Mamman, could not confirm the blast, but promised to do so after ascertaining the true position of things.
