IMMEDIATE past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, yesterday arrived Lagos devoid of the fanfare, which accompanied his departure to Abuja shortly after he lost his re-election bid
into the House in April. The former Speaker arrived the VIP Lounge of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, about 7:58 p.m. aboard a chartered flight operated with an Hawker Sidney (HS125) marked ZS - BOT.
Bankole, who was the last passenger to disembark from the aircraft, was accompanied by four of his personal aides who pulled some trunk bags as they left the apron.
The former Speaker, who dressed in his usual all white attire and a pair of palm sandals to match, quietly walked into a black Peugeot 607 saloon car that was in the middle of the three-vehicle convoy that came to receive him.
He, however, frustrated attempts by photo-journalists to take his photographs.
The convoy also quietly left the terminal to an unknown destination without the blaring of sirens, which used to signify the arrival of the Speaker, when he was in office.
