Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, in the month of May, made N61.2 billion, the Comptroller-General of the Service, Dikko Inde Abdullahi, has said.
Dikko also commended nine Customs Area Controllers, for their contributions to the realisation of the money.
The Customs boss said it showed a N9 billion increase over the monthly average collected in the four previous months and N1 billion over the projected monthly target of N60 billion.

Out of the total revenue collected in the month of May, N35.884bn went into the Federation Account, while N25.356bn went to the non-Federation Account.
N2.72bn was spent on servicing Export Incentives through the instruments of the Negotiable Duty Credit Certificate, NDCC.
The Comptroller-General tasked Area Controllers to see the performance as a benchmark for the remaining months in the year.
Dikko gave the Commendation in Abuja at a strategy meeting convened to undertake a review of revenue performance in the service.
He extolled the commitment and dedication to duty of officers and men of the affected Commands, which contributed to the achievement he described as “unprecedented in the history of the service.”
The Comptrollers who got the commendation includes Idris Suleiman, the out-going Area Controller of Apapa Port; Austin Warikoru of Tin-can Island Port, Mohammed Nuhu of PTML, and Yusuf Umar of Ondo/Ekiti Commands.(Vanguard)
