The Aloko of Iloko-Ijesa, Oba Olodele Olashore, has decried the quality of health care delivery services offered in public hospitals in the country.
Olashore, who stated this in Iloko, during a programme organised by the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, charged stakeholders to fund the health sector adequately.A statement obtained by our correspondent, on Wednesday, in Osogbo, explained the need for the improvement of health care delivery sector.
The traditional ruler berated government for failure to provide quality health care services to the citizenry, lamenting that it was unfortunate that “Nigeria cannot boast of one single health institution worthy of reference.”
He commended the National Health Insurance Scheme and the NPHCDA for the provision of funds and facilities in the health care sector, stressing that both private and public sectors should collaborate to ensure the development of the sector.-punch
