The World Bank, federal, state and local governments in the country have committed N67.5billion ($450 million) to finance Fadama lll project in South East states, comprising Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states.
Mr Obadiah Tohomdet, the Bank’s team leader at the 4th World Bank/Federal Government Supervision Mission in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, yesterday, explained that the World Bank had already committed $250 million to the project, while the federal, state, and local governments provided the balance of $200 million for the entire project.
Tohomdet noted that Fadama III Project had also provided N1.2billion to finance 2,600 sub-projects.
Of the 2,600 sub-projects, the bank team leader said 260 had so far been completed, while work was continuing on others.-vanguard
